I think Diablo 4 can take the best from both worlds. The melancholic guitar and the uncommon and even evil sounding drum rhythms really fit like a glove. You hear them a lot while playing, they fit the Diablo universe perfectly and are very memorable. On the other hand Act 1 and Act 2 in D2 had zones with fantastic ambient music such as Act 1 “Tristram”, “Wilderness”, “Rogue Encampment”, “Cave” and Act 2 “Lut Gholein” and “Desert”. ![]() The most ambient tracks in D3 are very forgettable. The thing is that 2 of those are in cinematics, 1 is in boss fight and only “Caldeum” is ambient music. Anyone who says that the entirety of D3 soundtrack is bad should listen to them. Diablo 3 had some great music too like “I am justice”, “Chains of fate”, “A new dawn” and “Caldeum”. ![]()
